Very good hotel- most unexpected in iraq. Helpful staff- good rooms- good restaurant- value for money. I stayed for one night and full day- The hotel had very good date tree in the entrance -full of fruits-very pleasing experience.
Basra is a perfect example of what could have been and what it isn't. In an imaginative hand , it can turn out to be another Singapore or KL. So is this Hotel. Well , its a good Hotel under the circumstances. Basra is a place not much directly affected by the war , but Iraq was.
So a paranoid security system exists throughout the city. This Hotel is no exception. Outside look is impressive, Inside also not disappointing. Nice lobby , spacious rooms, toilet clean. Pretty Helpful staff , recommend slow down your English , many problems will be solved.
Service on the slower side , but you thank your stars that you are after all getting service. Food is repetitive , in fact we had the same four desserts for three days at a stretch at dinner. Fish , meats are fresh and tasty , varieties adequate but again quite repetitive. Since you do not have much choice brace for it. Free Wi-fi available , each room has room number as log in and separate password. Ask for it , Speed on the slower side though.
Better not venture out of the hotel after sunset. The hotel is extremely secure. We were in Basrah for an Δ°nternational Fair and stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. This is,in my opinion,the best one in Basrah after seeing the other 3 and 4 stars hotels in the area.
